Test Results

How and when to obtain test results from the surgery

Getting your test results

Important

We cannot provide test results for any tests requested by other clinicians, for example, hospital consultants. The results will always be returned to the requesting clinician.

Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:

It is important to note that the receptionist you speak to can only read the doctors comment verbatim. This means, if the result is normal, it might read ‘normal – no action’. If abnormal it might read, ‘abnormal – routine appointment with GP to discuss’. They cannot provide you with any further details regarding your test result.

The reception team are not clinically trained to read out the different blood levels and how that compares with previous numbers etc.
